Dr. Ted V.J. Houle received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1968. After graduation, he completed an internship at the New England Medical Centers Hospitals in Boston, Massachussettes. In 1974, he completed residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Medical Center. Dr. Houle has been a practicing physician and surgeon for over 30 years. His long and distinquished career includes a commision in the United States Public Health Service from 1967-1971 where he worked at Fort Deficance, Arizona as a medical officer and assistant surgeon. However, most of his career has been spent working as an ophthalmologist serving the people in the northern New England area. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is on staff at Northern Vermont Regional Hospital and Littleton Regional Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New England Ophthalmological Society, the Association for Vision and Research in Ophthalmology, the Vermont Ophthalmological Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. His practice interests include comprehensive ophthalmology, small-incision cataract surgery, and the ocular manifestations of systemic disease. |
