HOW DO I GET
GLASSES?
An eye exam is required in order to obtain a prescription for
glasses. An examination will not only detect vision deficiencies,
but will also test for diseases of the eye and in some cases may
allow the doctor to determine if health problems exist such as
diabetes and hardening of the arteries. The exam allows the doctor
to write the correct vision prescription so that specific lenses
can be made to improve your vision. Depending on your lifestyle,
your doctor may suggest certain types of prescription glasses,
prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, or some combination of
these.
WHERE DO I
GET GLASSES?
In order to insure quality and dependability with your eyeglasses,
it is advisable to obtain them from your eye care provider. However,
you can purchase eyeglasses from any licensed optician.
HOW DO I CLEAN
MY GLASSES?
Always clean your eyeglasses with soap and warm water. Afterwards,
wipe the lens with a soft cloth to keep the lenses free of smudges
and debris. Never wipe the lenses when they are dry. This is especially
true for plastic lenses that tend to scratch much more easily
than glass lenses. When you are not wearing your eyeglasses, make
sure they are kept in a protected case so dust does not settle
on the lens.
